The new simple-to-install system allows telephone, data, video and audio to be distributed through a central source and controlled throughout the home.

"People buying new homes today increasingly want entertainment throughout the house, and our Home Networks provide a platform from which this can easily be achieved," said Mark Moody of Legrand.

"It offers networking solutions that enable everything from watching DVDs played on a central source, to sharing music around the home. Similarly computer games can be remotely accessed, and multiple phone lines distributed for both home and business purposes," he continued.

Legrand’s Home Networks use a modular approach to telephone, data, video and audio, which combine to create a truly smart home.

Voice

The telephone module accepts up to four incoming lines through one standard RJ45 socket. Line one is primary at eight locations, line two at two, and lines three and four at single locations on the module. All ports meet TIA 568A specification and can be easily reconfigured to match individual homeowner’s needs.

Data

Using a five port 10/100 base-T auto-sensing switch as the central point, the data module creates a residential computer network. PCs can be connected to other peripheral devices, such as printers and scanners, while a cascading Ethernet router offers the capability for high-speed Internet access for up to four more PCs.

Providing the homeowner with the ability to share high-quality video signals throughout the house, Legrand’s image module utilises passive four or eight way splitters / combiners that enable source video signals to be shared across the home. Enhanced video amplification ensures perfect picture quality wherever the satellite or incoming signals are presented, while internally generated signals can be modulated to any of the common outlets.

Audio

Legrand’s audio module combines a simple wiring structure with newly developed technology that amplifies sound and enables independent volume control in each room.

Legrand Home Networks are available in a variety of combinations to suit the differing requirements and budgets of homeowners and housebuilders - full details of which can be found in the Legrand Home Networks brochure.

Come along to Showhouse Exhibition (Excel, London) between 1st - 3rd November 2005 and speak to the Legrand experts about our complete residential solution.
