MGE UPS Systems Annouces Launch Of Comet EX RT

London (UK), May 2005– MGE UPS SYSTEMS, a world leader in high availability power solutions, launches Comet EX RT (7-11 kVA), a new double-conversion UPS with performance characteristics and features generally found only in three-phase UPSs. In addition, its compact design (6 U) and easy integration make it an ideal power-protection solution for networking equipment.

w Dual AC input. Comet EX RT can be supplied by two independent distribution systems. This is the first time a manufacturer offers separate AC inputs on a single-phase UPS.

 w Double fault tolerance. To protect the most critical situations, two UPSs can be easily combined to provide N+1 redundancy.

w Standard manual bypass. Unique on the UPS market, all models in the range are equipped with a manual bypass that makes it possible to hot swap UPSs or batteries without interrupting the protected systems.

w Battery performance you can count on. With its wide input voltage range (120 to 280 V), this UPS rarely requires battery power. This means full backup power is always available when you really need it. And for even greater assurance, the batteries are automatically tested at user-set intervals, once a day or longer.

w Easy installation in high-density cabinets. Comet EX RT comes in a two-in-one Tower and 19-inch Rack format just 6 U in height, including the battery enclosure!

w Two administration modes. Point-to-point using Solution-Pac software or remote via a simple Web interface or integration in network-management platforms (HP OpenView, IBM Tivoli Netview, CA Unicenter, etc.).

w For intuitive operation and immediate local monitoring of UPS status, Comet EX RT comes with a multi-lingual LCD screen offering a wide range of user settings and self-diagnostics.
