Ideal for partitioned walls and voids, ALSECURE® NXS will operate 32A Type B MCB circuit breakers if penetrated by a sharp object, providing the ability for an electrical circuit to fail safe. ALSECURE® NXS cables provide their own containment so there is no need for expensive conduit or SWA cables making ALSECURE® NXS cables the more cost effective solution. The cables are suitable for installation both indoors and outside, in cable trays and baskets, in roof spaces and ductwork, directly on brick, stone, metal and other materials, behind plaster and as part of modular wiring systems.
ALSECURE® NXS cables are halogen-free and flame retardant, with minimal smoke emission, they are designed to protect people and property from the emission of toxic gases and deadly fumes in the event of a fire. Often more deadly than flames, protection from smoke and gases is the first priority for fire protection.
Manufactured in accordance to BS 8436:2004 600/1000v Nexans ALSECURE® NXS cables can be used for wide variety of applications across both domestic and commercial construction including:
- Ring main power
- Lighting
- Air conditioning and ventilation systems,
- Outside lighting circuits
- Signage supplies.
With bonded aluminium tape ALSECURE® NXS cables have excellent mechanical resistance and provide screening from electrical interference. Particular attention has been paid to making the NXS cables easy to install, they are smaller and up to 60% lighter than traditional small armoured cables. There are no extra tapes to remove, they are easy to strip and they retain their memory.
The ALSECURE® NX range of cables offer a wide choice of core count and conductor sizes for use with AC and DC voltages of 300/500V. They form part of a developing range that will also include singlecore and armoured cables as well as fire-reaction cables, and are backed-up by Nexans’ full UK technical and logistical support.
