Planning & Design

This course covers assessing circuit and total loadings, (including multiple electric showers etc. ); Maximum demand and diversity; Sizing and layout of distribution boards; Evaluating type of ESB supply required; Selection of cables with respect to type, current carrying capacity, voltage drop, correction factors, etc; Number of outlets per circuit; Selection of types and ratings of protective devices (fuses, MCBs, RCDs etc); Factors governing protection against electric shock, the importance of earth loop impedance values relative to the tripping characteristics of the associated protective devices; External influences, environmental considerations, etc.

The courses are supported by FAS under the Competency Development Programme. To book a course you must complete the Fas Registration Form (CDP7 0403) and send to RECI with course fee (€70 per participant). You must give the PPS number for each participant.
