March's Question of the Month - Closing the loop after connection

RECI

Our Voltimum Experts answer your questions on a daily basis in our Technical Expertise area. This Question of the Day, concerning closing the loop after connection, is answered by RECI:

Question:  I have a number of installations which need to be earthed onto a pit. For arguements sake, it's a square site with 4 installations at each corner and a pit coming off in the middle of the north face of the compound.  Can i link these with a continuous looped earth tape or can i just extend the one tape from one to the last without the tape looping?

Answer: I think what you are asking is if it is necessary to close the loop after connection to each installation. This would be preferable but it is not necessary provided each installation is earthed from the pit. (Answered by RECI)
