The winners of the ETCI Apprentice Awards were announced recently. The purpose of the Awards is to foster a greater awareness of electrical safety, to recognise the achievements of Ireland’s top electrical apprentices and to strengthen ETCI’s links with the Electrotechnical Education Centres.
The winners for 2009 are:
Electrical Commercial Installation Category: David Gough from Ballinablake, Curracloe, Co. Wexford, is employed by
Peter Corish (Safeco Electric), Murrintown, Co. Wexford. David
attended Waterford Institute of Technology for Phases 4 and 6 of
the training programme.
Electrical Industrial Installation Category: Eric Cunneen from Upper Conna, Co. Cork, is employed by ESB, Wilton, Cork. Eric attended the FAS Training Centre Cork for Phase 2 of his apprenticeship, the Limerick Institute of Technology for Phase 4, and the Cork Institute of Technology for Phase 6.
ETCI is most appreciative and grateful for the kind support that it receives from Paul Sharkey of Instrument Technology and from Eamonn Cullen of Electrofast, for donating the prizes. Instrument Technology and Electrofast have donated prizes each year for the Awards since they were started in 1994.
