A member has brought to our attention a Caution Notice which comes in the box with EI mains powered smoke detectors.
The Notice reads as outlined on the right:
We have circulated this Caution Notice to CER, ESB, NSAI, SEI, and RECI and sought their
opinions on the issue but none of the Standards Bodies appear to have done any research or
investigation on the potential hazard identified.
Given the encouragement towards renewable energy such as wind and solar power, it is important that the matter be addressed and dealt with if in fact a real danger exists.
