Illumination without shadows with OSRAM's new T5 Seamlesss High Efficiency tube

OSRAM introduces T5 Seamlesss High Efficiency (HE) - a ground-breaking fluorescent tube that gives designers greater freedom to provide continuous light without shadows. With its new geometry, T5 Seamless HE is ideally suited to applications in which premium quality lighting plays a major role, such as in hotels, restaurants or shopping centres. It also provides various options for designing mood lighting and saving even more energy thanks to the fact that it is fully dimmable:
Until now, if you wanted continuous light you had to put up with dark zones and shadows between the luminaires – or “intended” overlaps. OSRAM’s T5 Seamless HE tube enables “endless” strip lighting systems to be created without annoying shadows because they need a minimum end-to-end spacing of just 5 mm. This is in comparison to “normal” T5 lamps where the spacing is around 20 mm because of the two caps.
The new T5 Seamless HE is available in different wattages (14W, 21W and 28W) and different colour temperatures (830, 840 and 865) so that you can select the perfect solution for any application. Significantly, different wattages can be used in the same installation adding to the design flexibility of this new product.
By operating T5 Seamless HE on OSRAM’s innovative QUICKTRONIC (DALI) DIM electronic control gear the system benefits from unrestricted dimming capabilities.
Launched at Light + Building 2010, the T5 Seamlesss High Efficiency fluorescent tube will be available in the UK and Ireland from summer 2010.
