The global specialist in energy management Schneider Electric has launched a new offer to enhance its existing MITA trunking range, which has been mixed with an antimicrobial compound during the manufacturing process.
The additive has a 99.9% success rate in reducing bacterial count, including MRSA and Klebsiella Pneumonia, making the antimicrobial trunking ideal for healthcare buildings and hospitals. In addition, it will help fight bacteria and germs in the home and commercial buildings with high footfall, which can be breeding grounds for microorganisms.
Trunking positioned along walls is prone to being touched and leant on, and germs and bacteria can be spread this way. By using an antimicrobial compound, any bacteria or germs that come into contact with the trunking will be suppressed.
Paul Martin, category manager at Schneider Electric, said: “Trunking is a well-utilised cable management solution in a range of applications, which makes it the ideal product to treat with an antimicrobial compound.
“While this provides an ideal solution for hospitals and health care buildings, where germs and bacteria are inevitable, the antimicrobial trunking could be used by anyone who wants to help reduce health risks.”
In addition to antimicrobial trunking, Schneider Electric offers a wide range of MITA cable management solutions to suit a variety of applications. These include bench trunking, floor boxes, power poles and a range of pre-wired accessories.
