Since 1 January 2010 it is mandatory to return to RECI the Post Connection Tests Certificate within the time frame specified in the CER Common Procedure No 5 –
Enforcement.
This procedure can be viewed on the RECI website (www.reci.ie). According to this procedure, the Post Connection Tests Certificate has to be returned within 35 days from the date the installation has been energised. If the certificate is not received within this period, RECI will send a letter to the contractor reminding him/her of the obligation to return the certificate. If nothing is received for another 5 days, a second letter will be sent explaining that if the certificate is not received within the next 5 days, RECI will inform the CER who in turn will appoint an Authorised Officer who will liaise with the DSO and recommend a disconnection of the installation. It is therefore of the utmost importance that the Post Connection Tests Certificate is returned to RECI within the prescribed period in order to prevent a disconnection of the customer’s installation.
RECI are selling the new four part Certificate since 27 April 2010. For contractors who are using an older version of the Certificate purchased prior to 27 April 2010, a photocopy of the Certificate after the Post Connection Tests have been signed has to be returned to RECI.
