Nexans launches new upgraded Alsecure NX200 range of easy to handle and install fire resistant cables
Nexans, a worldwide leading expert in the cable industry, has launched a new upgraded version of its Alsecure NX200 range of fire resistant cables that is now even easier to handle and install, especially for stripping and termination.
Nexans has designed the upgraded NX200 to meet the specific needs of building specifiers, contractors and installers who need a high quality, high performance cable at a cost-effective price to ensure the integrity of vital fire detection, fire alarm, voice alarm and emergency lighting systems.
NX200 cables are ideally suited for use in buildings where the protection and safeguarding of people, structures, and critical equipment is of paramount importance such as shopping centres, hospitals, exhibition centres, sports and recreational facilities. The NX200 range carries BASEC (British Approvals Service for Cables) and LUL (London Underground Limited) 1-085A3 approvals.
The NX200 cables are available in a variety of core and conductor variants in a choice of a red or white sheath. NX200 is ideal for fire detection and fire alarm critical signal path standard application areas according to BS5839-1:2002. The cable can also be used for voice alarm systems according to BS5839-8:2008 and emergency lighting systems according to BS5266-1:2005. In fire conditions, NX200 will ensure circuit integrity for a minimum of 120 minutes (PH120 to BS EN 50200), which could be at least 60 minutes longer than other standard fire resistant cables.
As well as assuring the integrity of fire safety systems, installing NX200 cables will also limit the effects of toxic fumes and smoke, making it easier for people to escape and reducing collateral damage to equipment and buildings.
The Alsecure NX200 cables are manufactured by Nexans in Switzerland to the highest quality standards, including ISO 9001:2008.
