Celebrity footballer wired by Pirelli in ITV’s charity challenge

When former Arsenal striker Ian Wright teamed up with his friends to rebuild a disabled children’s’ adventure playground for hit Saturday ITV show “With a little help from My Friends,” he called on Pirelli to provide Low Smoke Zero Halogen cables and components for the build.

In each programme, which has featured celebrities such as Neil Morrissey, Jordan and Kerry Katona, host Jamie Theakston challenges a celebrity to get their old school friends involved in a renovation project for charity but without calling on any celebrity friends or spending any of their own money.

On Saturday 2nd July, 6.30 – 7.30pm, viewers will see Jamie give Ian Wright five days to rebuild the playground area at a north London adventure playground. It is currently used by over 800 disabled and disadvantaged children, but is in such a state of disrepair, is due to be closed down at the end of the year.

Pirelli Cables and Components supplied Ian with low smoke cables, brass glands and various other components to help rebuild the Hayward’s Adventure Playground in Islington. The Low Smoke Zero Halogen cables and components help provide a safer environment for the children. The entire outdoor area will be floodlit so that the facilities can also be used in the evening.
