Dimplex Quantum Named Best Energy & Carbon Saving Product

Quantum, which can provide energy savings up to 22% and running cost savings up to 27% compared with conventional storage heaters, was launched last year and is already revolutionising the electric heating market.

 

The energy and cost savings are made possible thanks to advances in insulation, technology and controllability which mean Quantum intuitively matches a user's lifestyle and climate conditions. This gives users the chance to use stored heat as and when they need it with easy-to-use controls.

 

The high level of energy retention also means that in a correctly-sized system the bulk of the electricity required can be drawn during off-peak periods to store as heat, costing as little as 5.5p/kWh, compared with around 15p/kWh for peak rate electricity. 

 

As a result, Quantum provides a cost-saving, carbon cutting solution to many of the 2.3 million homes which are electrically heated in the UK. With more than 4.5 million households now in fuel poverty (17 per cent of the national total) there are believed to be more than 6.5 million installation opportunities for Quantum in the UK.

It is already proving attractive to social landlords and housing associations, together with the private rented sector which has the lowest EPC of all housing stock in the UK.
