Nexans, the worldwide leader in the cable industry has launched a ‘call and collect’ service for UK wholesale customers needing urgent access to a comprehensive range of building cables on a same-day basis.
Now, instead of having to wait for their usual delivery day, a wholesaler can simply call their order through on 01908 250850 and three hours later it will be ready for collection from the Nexans Logistics Centre in Milton Keynes.
The call and collect service is subject to a minimum order of just £50 and covers the complete range of standard building cables held in stock at Milton Keynes including mains cable, PVC flexes, Artic Grade low temperature flex, Alsecure NX200 and NX200 plus fire-resistant cable, 6491x and 6491b cable, NXS pre-wired conduit, control cable, under-floor heating cable, LAN cable, telephone cable and accessories. Wholesale customer can collect their cable either on standard reels or cut to length as required – Nexans’ Milton Keynes Logistics Centre has 14 cutting machines, with the largest having a 10 tonne cutting and handling capacity.
While developing the call and collect service Nexans UK worked with its customers, such as Starlec, the Hemel Hempstead based independent wholesaler, to ensure it would meet their needs. Starlec director Matthew East said: “The new service works really well. The order and collection process runs very smoothly and enables us to meet our urgent cable needs quickly and efficiently.”
