The National Motorcycle Museum, recognised as the finest and largest motorcycle museum in the world, is on schedule for its grand reopening on 1st December 2004, with Pirelli’s fast and easy to install FP200 Gold® fire performance cable.
Efforts are currently under way to restore the collection and the museum to its former glory.
Pirelli has supplied 3,000 metres of its FP200 Gold® cable which is being installed to all areas of the museum for lighting, power sockets, emergency lighting and an addressable fire alarm system.
Chief electrician, Peter Price of the National Motorcycle Museum, explains why Pirelli’s FP200 Gold® cable was used: “We chose FP200 Gold® for its versatility and ease of use. We are installing it throughout the whole museum, including the 13 conference suites and 5 museum halls. It is an excellent product to work with, very quick and simple to use.”
Julie Croasdale product manager at Pirelli said: “We are pleased to be working with the National Motorcycle Museum, home to so many unique machines from British motorcycling history. FP200 Gold® met the required design criteria of fire resistance combined with ease of installation and it is excellent that it is playing its part in the next chapter of the museum’s history.”
The National Motorcycle Museum is at the hub of the country’s motorway system and rail network with Birmingham International railway station just a five-minute taxi-ride away.
