Cables and systems specialist Prysmian has introduced the SRS3000 modular sub-rack system and patch panel range for optical splicing and patching. Offering a wide variety of configurations it enables users to customise the product for different applications, with the flexibility to adapt the system as requirements change
For installation into 19", ETSI or ANSI racks, street-side cabinets or wall-mounted racks, the product consists of metal chassis available in 1U, 2U and 3U options into which a choice of modules can be loaded to create a system to match customer needs.
The range of modules includes splice and patch, patch only and splice only modules which can accommodate up to 48 fibres per 1U unit. Modules are supplied with a range of connector types for both singlemode and multimode fibre, which can be factory fitted or supplied as a kit. They can also be configured to hold optical devices such as splitters and WDMs on request. A patchcord storage module completes the module range.
The sub-rack can be supplied fully configured or modules can be supplied empty for upgrading with pigtails and adaptors at a later date to accommodate changing system needs.
The cable anchoring system allows all types of optical cables (including blown fibre) to be routed onto the sub-rack and modules.
Modules pivot outwards to give clear access to the fibre management area while drop down panel fronts facilitate easier patchcord routing and enclosing. Two large labelling areas are provided for port identification
