Responding to the need for fast-acting protection relay solutions, Schneider Electric has launched Vamp, an arc flash protection system for MV and LV switchgear.
Available throughout the UK and Ireland, Vamp provides enhanced safety and security for expensive equipment and assets thanks to innovative, light-based monitoring systems.
As a result of the monitoring of light via fibre optic sensors, Vamp has been proven to operate seven milliseconds faster than existing arc flash protection systems, ensuring greater operational safety for people and assets.

Vamp does exactly this, providing early arc flash detection and therefore ensuring the safety of people and assets remains paramount.”
Vamp has been developed over the course of the last five years and has been fully tested to industry standards. The product is available for both new build and retrofit applications.
The product solution is ideally suited for a variety of applications from the oil and gas industry, buildings, rail and renewable energy sectors as well as nautical.
