A brief history of Nexans in Ireland:
1972 Plant established. Low voltage Mains Cable
1976 Plant expanded
1982 Canada Wire purchase 49 % of equity; Factory 2 added
1991 Alcatel Purchase Irish Cable & Wire.
1996 Small Armoured Cable facility added
1998 Irish Cable & wire becomes Alcatel Irish Cable
2000 Alcatel Irish Cable becomes Nexans Ireland Ltd
