The AM2 Test must be taken by apprentices who are in their final year of the JIB Apprentice Training Programme and others who wish to use the test to accredit practical experience:
The AM2 is a three-day industry recognised trade test that is controlled by the National Electrotechnical Training (NET) Organisation in conjunction with the Joint Industry Board (JIB) and Summit Skills, which is the Sector Skills Council for the Electrotechnical Industry.
The AM2 Test centre is based at ETT's headquarters in Ballymena, and is the only NET approved centre in Northern Ireland.
The
AM2 Test lasts for three days and comprises of four sections: 1) Section A -Composite
Installation, Visual Inspection, Functional Operation; 2) Section B - Inspection
and testing of the composite installation; 3) Section C - Safe isolation of test
unit, Safe isolation of Supplies; 4) Section D - Fault diagnoses and Fault rectification.
