Choice of seven finishes with modular options and no visible mounting screws
ABB’s new Alpha bs range of wiring accessories offers a selection of stylish and aesthetically appealling switches, socket outlets, communication and control devices which provide the perfect finishing touch for the high quality interiors demanded by the architectural and interior design markets.

The Alpha bs range, which has been developed to meet all relevant British Standards, is available in a choice of seven finishes: platinum, palladium, titanium, ivory, white, gold and gold/ivory. The modular design enables the internal components to be fixed on a grid system for fast, easy installation and testing while the frame and switchplate or coverplate, which snap in to position to conceal the mounting screws, do not have to be installed until the very last moment – ensuring they remain clean and undamaged.

Plateswitches and push switches
The mainstays of the Alpha bs range are the 10AX plateswitches – available in both single and twin gang versions – and the 10AX single gang push switches. A particularly neat feature is that the switch unit can still be operated in perfect safety without the switchplate in place, enabling the circuit to be tested as early as possible.

Sockets and connection units
The Alpha bs range also includes 13A socket outlets, 13A connection units, double pole switches, shaver supply units and TV and telephone outlets.

Dimmers and PIRs
A unique feature of the Alpha bs range is the choice of rotary and/or touch type and remote control dimmers compatible with all types of loads including fluorescent lighting. They are suitable for use with both electronic and wire wound transformers.

Internal PIR devices are also available for automatic lighting control and the Alpha bs range is fully compatible with ABB’s sophisticated i-bus® EIB building control system.
