ABB’s innovative Universal Central Dimmer enables comfortable dimming of retrofit LEDs which are now no longer in circulation. This device not only provides perfect light control for LED lights, but is also reliable with conventional incandescent lamps, 230V halogen lamps and low-voltage halogen lamps which have a conventional inductive or electronic transformer as a driver.
ABB provides clarity and reliability with its dimming range, and offers also the end user the advantage of combining existing lights with new LED lamps, without having to replace the previous dimmers. In developing new devices, the firm’s main challenge was to ensure that the ERS dimmers and lamps worked together to control the brightness without affecting the quality of the end result.
This ABB Universal Central Dimmer is ideal for ensuring that lamps switch- on quickly and safely. The dimming characteristic is as harmonious and flicker free, as you would expect from traditional incandescent dimmers, while the brightness control is equipped with a transistor and works in any position absolutely silently without any kind of hum or buzz. The maximum brightness can be adjusted.
The new REG universal dimmer has been integrated for a space-saving, tool-less installation on the DIN rail in a very compact housing (1 module). It works with a very large dimming range and also enables mixed -load operation with different bulbs. Moreover, numerous special settings can be used, including: memory function, snooze and wake-up function, the nursery function, central off, staircase function with switch-off warning (in accordance with DIN 18015-2), cleaning light function and various time functions. Another practical feature is the possibility of on-site operation (without additional button).
