The ESB has added a very useful feature to its already information-rich website: The Appliance Calculator.
The Appliance Calculator can help you estimate how much your home electrical appliances and lights cost to run. It allows you to compare the cost of using appliances in different ways (e.g. a 40 °C compared to a 60 °C Wash).
You can also see the positive impact of using appliances differently (e.g. when you use a smaller hotplate instead of a larger one). Energy conservation doesn’t have to be about making sacrifices.
Note: The cost calculation is based on a two monthly bill (61 days) to tie in with you ESB Customer Supply Bill.
How to use the calculator
Select the appliance category from the menu on the left
Click on the dropdown arrow and select your appliance.
** The Power rating fields will fill in automatically or you can change if required
Click 'Add to list' .
Repeat these steps to build up your own list of appliances
To remove an appliance at any stage just select and 'delete'
To edit a calculation on the list, select it and click on the 'modify' button and repeat the steps above.
To reset the calculator click on the 'clear list' button.
