Floodlights can create a strong impact when directed onto buildings, pathways and in other outdoor spaces. They also offer several advantages. Floodlights are broad beamed lighting fixtures that emit high intensity light. They are typically used in large and poorly lit commercial areas as they flood the space with uniform illumination.
This type of lighting is necessary for applications such as warehouses, manufacturing plants, construction sites, shipyards, parking lots, highways, and more. They require proper illumination during operational hours and particularly during winter months.
Floodlights emit white light that beams out at a very broad angle. They have a higher lumen per watt output than other conventional lighting solutions and offer multiple benefits and advantages for users.
Energy Efficient
LED efficiency is getting better and better, with floodlights now offering greater performance and power for much lower energy consumption than ever before.
Aurora’s floodlight ranges emit a large amount of light compared to the power used, offering up to 120lm/W, so if replacing other types of lighting technology the savings on energy are likely to be a significant amount.
Long Lifespan
LED flood lights are strong, durable and long lasting. They can remain operational up to L70 50,000 hours, which is particularly important for products which are installed in hard to access areas. Replacing flood lights installed in areas such as warehouses often require cherry pickers and other expensive equipment, so the high quality and enhanced lifetime ensure reduced maintenance costs for the end user.
Heat Emissions
Floodlights are extremely powerful, and they convert a vast amount of supplied energy into heat. This contributes to rise in temperature of the surrounding area and makes the appliances vulnerable to damage. However, Aurora’s LED floodlights limit heat emissions as the aluminium housing used is excellent for heat dissipation.
Safety & Security
Well positioned floodlights offer a measure of safety and security. Locations without proper outdoor lighting are an obvious target for break-ins and accidents, such as slips and falls. With the use of our commercial floodlights, these unfortunate scenarios can be avoided. In addition to making the location less appealing to criminals, these landscape flood lights are great for illuminating landscaping in the early mornings or evenings or winter days.
When it comes to this type of lighting, however, the rule to remember is that less is more.
