In the current economic climate, energy and cost saving is even more crucial and air curtains can help with this. They create an ‘invisible barrier’ of air over open doors and entrances, improving comfort levels within the building while minimising energy costs by keeping treated air inside and separate from the draughts and chills of the external environment. And what’s more, because Dimplex air curtains are compatible with a wide range of optional energy savers, running costs can be reduced further still.
Dimplex currently offers a wide range of surface and recessed air curtains suitable for doorways between three and six metres high. Ranges include the CAB and DAB, the industrial IAB and the architectural ARC and Dimplex air curtains have been installed in a wide range of different installations including high street shops, restaurants, public buildings and motorway service stations.
The CFP and CFS ranges of robust wall-mounted fan heaters provide fast, flexible heating for commercial and light industrial use, while the compact PFH fan heater is ideal for the business environment, emitting just 24 decibels of sound – no louder than a whisper.
For more industrial or outdoor applications, Dimplex offers a choice of radiant heaters, with both ceramic and quartz models available. Only people and objects within the ‘throw’ are heated, not the ambient air, minimising running costs. The CXD ceramic models operate silently at up to 700 degrees Celsius and provide long wave infrared radiant heat with no visible light output. If outdoor heating is required, the Dimplex OPH and CPH wall-mounted patio heaters are the simple, safe and highly effective solution. Unlike gas heaters, the OPH and CPH provide instant heat at the flick of a switch, is 100% efficient at point of use and there is no need to worry about bottled gas supplies.
If renewable energy is a requirement of the project, Dimplex also has the UK’s widest range of heat pumps across ground, water and air source. Including ground source models with high outputs up to 130kW, offering the ideal solution for non-domestic applications, while high temperature ground and air source units give water heating temperatures up to 70 degrees Celsius. Enhanced controller software is available across the range. Dimplex heat pumps have been installed in a wide range of commercial properties, from supermarkets, schools and colleges and retail parks, through to hotels and historic homes.
Installed heaters are a popular choice for heating offices, waiting rooms, bedrooms, bathrooms and other areas which require controllable or intermittent heating. The WFC and WFE wall mounted convector ranges provide outputs of up to 3kW, while the VFMi range of high output fan storage heaters offers powerful outputs of up to 6.9kW for larger commercial premises.
For applications such as hotels, Dimplex has a range of products including towel rails, panel heaters and advanced KX controls for room energy management. The KX controls are designed to work in conjunction with hotel door entry systems, with keycard or keyfob variants able to control the heating according to occupancy, thereby controlling the running cost.
Dimplex also offers a range of electric unvented water cylinders ranging from 80 litres right up to 4000 litres to supply plentiful mains pressure hot water in multi-occupancy dwellings and specialised commercial properties such as leisure centres.
