Even more schools, housing associations and other not-for-profit organisations can now benefit from Dimplex’s Low Carbon Building Programme experience, as Phase 2 of the programme, which awards grants of up to 50% of costs, has been extended until April 2011.
And as the scheme now covers all Dimplex products registered on the Microgeneration Certification Scheme or carrying the Solar Keymark, applicants also have greater choice over the technology that’s best for their project.
Dimplex’s experience in LCBP2 installations is unrivalled, as it has been one of three appointed framework suppliers for ground source heat pumps since the start of the programme in 2006 and has assisted many organisations from schools and village halls through to social housing providers and charitable bodies. In fact, nearly half the successful LCBP2 applications to date have specified Dimplex equipment and this experience means that Dimplex continues to be the natural choice as the scheme is extended.
Chris Davis, head of renewables at Dimplex commented: “The extension of the LCBP scheme as a bridge for heat pumps and solar thermal until the beginning of the Renewable Heat Incentive in 2011 is vitally important for the renewables industry.
“We know from experience however that the application process for LCBP2 grants can be complicated for clients to understand. Working with a supplier with a well established team in place to support the schemes and with experience of the potential pitfalls will help customers gain access to these grant funds as quickly and painlessly as possible.”
The extension of the programme until April 2011 sees an additional £35million allocated to Phase 2, with the upper limit for grants of heat pump technologies increasing from 45kW to 300kW (up to a limit of £200,000). This means that large scale installations such as schools, libraries and other large buildings can now also access grant funding for a greater proportion of their total costs, while larger capacity Dimplex heat pumps are also now eligible for funding under the scheme.
In addition to this, funding now covers air source heat pumps and solar thermal, giving applicants a greater choice over the Dimplex technology that best suits their project.
