Dimplex’s revolutionary Quantum space heater has demonstrated exceptional savings, cutting residents’ energy bills by an average 25 per cent at an Aster Energy housing development in Devizes, Wiltshire.

Quantum Savings For Aster Customers in Devizes

Aster Energy, a brand of Aster Property, selected the Dimplex Quantum heaters to replace an inefficient heating system which caused some residents to use secondary plug-in heaters to reach acceptable levels of comfort in their home.

The Quantum heaters were installed by contractor, Low Carbon Exchange, at all 17 properties at the Devizes site, which comprises a mix of one and two bed flats and bungalows.

David Greensmith, Energy Manager for Aster Property, which serves over 75,000 customers across Central, Southern and Southwest England, explained: “Our focus is on ensuring we deliver the very best solutions for residents. We were impressed with how quick and easy the Quantum heaters were to install, and have found the controls really simple to set and explain to residents.

“We’ve had lots of positive feedback from our customers about the project and we’re delighted that there has been a noticeable difference in our customer’s energy bills.”

The Quantum heater, which is now installed in thousands of social housing properties across the UK, can deliver energy savings of up to 22 per cent and running cost savings of up to 27 per cent, compared with conventional storage heaters. Advances in insulation, technology and controllability allow the Quantum heater to maximise the amount of stored heat from off-peak energy tariffs - which means it can draw up to 90% of energy during cheaper off -peak periods.

A study prior to the installation at the Devizes development showed heating bills were £242 per quarter on average. Meter readings over the same period after new Dimplex Quantum heaters were installed showed an average 25 per cent saving, which saved each customer an average £76.72.

David Greensmith added: “The great thing was the first reaction of the occupiers. They were delighted at the prospect of better heating and lower bills and they all commented on how smart and modern the new heater looked.”
