Does using surge protection on my main power board offer protection downstream?

I have already protected my main power board with Surge Protection – surely this offers protection downstream?

Answer:

As well as suitable protection being installed to the main power board, downstream protection is required to distribution boards that supply external circuits as well areas of high value. This then creates a cascade system, where Lightning Current and high voltages are taken to earth via the installed surge protection units. More information on this can be found within our Furse Guide.
