Draka's Connecta system selected for the DLR

Selection of Connecta for the DLR project demonstrates the continuing success story of this safety critical cabling system from Draka.  The project will utilise circa 9km of cable with over 700 sockets and plugs installed.


Draka are delighted to be involved in the provision of safety critical systems for yet another high profile project.


Connecta is purpose designed for tunnel applications and delivers an effective and safe solution which could prove vitally important in an emergency situation.
Tailor-made for harsh tunnel environments and the complex installation requirements often involved, Connecta boasts all the hallmarks of Draka’s Firetuf range.  Quick and easy to install Connecta enables extremely flexible positioning.  Prior to energising, on-site testing ensures the system meets BS7671, IEE Wiring Regulations.  Each cable and finally the complete system are all tested.


Connecta also complies with the Fire Performance requirements of BS6387 and has IP67 water ingress performance.
