The Time Proportional Integral (TPI) technology around which the Horstmann Controls HRT range of thermostats are designed produces energy cost savings independently assessed at up to 10%.

The family of five room thermostats offer a combination of exceptional functionality, clean design, precise control and ease of installation and use.  The range features a wireless Z-Wave version with digital display, a battery powered version with digital display and a mains version with conventional dial setting interface as well as tamper proof and frost variants.
 
All feature the latest TPI control software and outperform many older styles of thermostat with their precise and efficient software optimising the boiler firing regime so it fires for shorter durations as the room temperature approaches the set point.  In a single cycle steady state test undertaken independently by TACMA, this created the potential for energy savings in the order of 10% when used with condensing boilers.
 
The saving is created because the return water flow temperatures are held below 55°C for longer when controlled by TPI, thus allowing the boiler to be in efficient condensing mode for longer.  Boilers operating with conventional thermostats are prone to wasteful temperature ‘over runs’ due to their inaccuracy and tendency to fluctuate.
 
As well as being highly efficient Horstmann HRT thermostats are very user friendly.  The casing designs are finished in a white/pale blue colour combination and features (on relevant models) include a clear backlit LCD display, easily recognised symbols, industry standard 6 terminal wall plate and – where relevant – a two year battery life.
