Kopex is cruising with their new range of Cable Management for Hazardous Areas

Published: 19 November 2007 Category: Other

Leading conduit manufacturer, Kopex, launched their new Cable Management for Hazardous Areas range last week at the apt location of the HMS Belfast. This 20th century battle ship is a fine example of where this new range could be used.

Kopex Managing Director, Duncan McKinlay, along with Group Product Manager, Paul Gretton, and Director of Sales UK Wholesaler, Dave White, presented to attendees the solutions offered with their new range for hazardous areas.

Ironically, the morning started off with fire safety instructions and then moved on to an introduction of Kopex and their latest projects, including the Burj Dubai, the world’s tallest tower.

“They need reliability in a safety critical environment,” said Managing Director, Duncan McKinlay.  “That’s why they chose Kopex.”

The new Kopex range of Cable Management for Hazardous areas meet ATEX and IECEX requirements.  Kopex manufactures all their products in the UK and they plan on extending their existing range into over 500 lines.

“There’s been significant investment and there will be much more to come,” said Duncan McKinlay.

Kopex is the first company to offer ATEX approved conduit systems in nylon and steel.  Along with their ATEX conduits, Kopex manufacturers top of the line thread converters, adaptors, glands, and there are many other products in the works.

“Nobody can offer the breadth of range we can offer into the market in metallic and non-metallic conduit,” said Kopex Sales Director UK Wholesaler, Dave White. “It’s almost a one-stop-shop.”

In the coming months, Kopex plans on providing knowledge and training about their products in conjunction with the distribution partners.  Trading is only going through a selected network of wholesalers.

“We have never failed to impress with the quality of work that we do,” said Duncan McKinlay. “This is an exciting chapter in our business.”

After a question and answer session, attendees were treated to a tasty lunch and eventually led on an incredibly informative tour, guided by Commander Cliff Le Quelenec, who served on the HMS Belfast as a Boiler Rooms Officer.
