MGE Announces Launch of Evolution UPS Range

Published: 31 October 2006 Category: News

The new Evolution UPSs, still the best when it comes to ultra-compact size (1550 VA in 1U and 3000 VA in 2U), unanimously approved by Network managers, now offer more power and long backup solutions as of 1250 VA, topped by unique service continuity.

MGE Announces Launch of Evolution UPS Range

The new Evolution range is part of the 'Intelligent Power for your Business Continuity' initiative launched by MGE UPS SYSTEMS last summer, featuring high availability, maximum flexibility and minimum TCO (total cost of ownership) all rolled into one.

To achieve this high level of availability, the UPSs offer remote administration capability with a wide offer of tools for communication, both local, via the USB or serial port, and remote, via the IP network. Different solutions for all installation sizes provide UPS status supervision and access to settings and advanced functions, from a simple Web browser to SNMP-based network management consoles such as HP Openview, IBM Tivoli Netview, Computer Associates Unicenter, and the MGE UPS SYSTEMS «Enterprise Power Manager v.2» software.

And, for service continuity, with the optional Hot-Swap MBP (maintenance by-pass) module, UPSs can be replaced without shutting down the protected equipment.

Above and beyond the basic functions, Evolution UPSs are equipped with key functions for network applications:
> Remote rebooting of applications and backup management with built-in programmable switched outlets
> Sequential outlet start-up

MGE UPS SYSTEMS also provides the answer to business needs in terms of flexibility and total cost of ownership with a wide range of power ratings, from 650 to 3000VA, and two versions: Evolution UPSs, in tower or 1U rack format from 650 to 2000 VA (2U for 2000 VA) and Evolution S, two-in-one tower and rack format, from 1250 to 3000 VA. Evolution S UPSs offer more Watts (Watt/VA ratio close to 1) and external batteries can be added to increase equipment backup according to needs, such as transition to VoIP, installation of new network protection functions, and so on.

Services
Evolution is sold with a 2-year warranty, which can be extended to 3 years with Warranty +.

The Evolution range replaces Pulsar Evolution.
