In a move to make life easier for contractors, MK Electric is extending its range of electrical products to incorporate a new collection of heating and hot water controls.

Available in a number of popular models comprising thermostats, timers and chronotherms (programmable thermostats), the range will be stocked, for added convenience, alongside traditional wiring products removing the need for a separate journey to the plumber’s merchant.

The controls feature easy-to-use interfaces; clean, modern designs and, above all, are quick and easy to install. Features include wiring knock-outs, trunking guides, large wiring terminals with captive washers and – for the electronic time-switches/programmers – the ability to retrofit onto existing backplates. Once installed, they offer the homeowner full functionality, allowing variable settings for time, temperature and a combination of the two.

The entry-level thermostatic products include both frost and room units, the latter with easy-to-use dial-type controls. The programmable models (chronotherms) comprise one-day and seven-day variants with a host of features including flexible programming with up to four separate time/temperature settings; integral frost protection, EEPROM memory, large LCD screen, installer set-up mode and energy saving ‘holiday’ button on the seven-day model.

For combined central heating and domestic hot water applications, MK’s electronic time-switches provide one and seven-day operation with one, two or three hour boost and programme extension options. The electronic programmers provide even greater control allowing independent settings for heating and hot water with up to three on/off periods per day.

The arrival of the MK range of heating and hot water controls at the trade counter means contractors can now purchase and install a recognised brand name associated with quality, reliability and good ‘install-ability’ across wiring accessories and comfort controls.
