Comet chaser with Nexans electrical harnesses woken up in deep space

Nexans is pleased to report that the European Space Agency (ESA) Rosetta comet chaser satellite was successfully woken in deep space after over two and half years in hibernation.

Launched 10 years ago, Rosetta is now 800,000,000km away ready to enter the next exciting phase of the mission where it is scheduled to attempt to land a probe on the comet surface in November. The researchers hope to gather information which will help explain the formation of the solar system.

Nexans provided the electrical harnesses for the probe which were built in Brussels and took over 3 years to manufacture requiring over 12000 electrical connections.
