Commenting on the Awards, Jim Rice, Managing Director, Schneider Electric Ireland said: “Schneider Electric is delighted to be involved with this year’s Innovation through Technology Awards. It is essential to recognise and reward projects and individuals in the public sector that use technology in a creative and exemplary way.”

Addressing the finalists present, Minister for Communications, Marine and Natural Resources, Noel Dempsey, TD, said: “I am delighted to present these awards to the outstanding individuals and organisations who have contributed to making technology relevant and useful in all sectors of
Irish industry and commerce. Using innovation and technology, they have given better access and tangible efficiency in service and costs to all of us that work in and use these organisations. I firmly believe that if State Agencies and Government Departments push technology to its limits, employees and clients will continue to benefit and will ultimately lead to us creating a Government that is more responsive to the needs of its citizens.”

The event was attended by over 200 representatives across the public sector, from Central Government Departments and local authorities to public service organisations in the welfare, enterprise, educational sectors etc.
