We are pleased to inform you of the dates and venues for our training courses which will run from January - April 2013.
To book a course you must complete the enclosed order form and send it to RECI with payment of €120 per person. Please note that if you book three places for the same course on the same night the third place is free for employees of the same company.
Fees are to be paid in advance and are non-refundable. There will be no credit given for non-attendance.
Cancellations must be made no less than 5 days prior to the date of the course.
Verification & Certification
Brush up your knowledge of visual inspection and testing of electrical installations, test record sheets and completion certificates, an essential refresher course for electricians who carry out electrical testing and certification.
This will enable you to meet the requirements of clause 1.2.12 (iii) of section C of the CER Criteria Document i.e. ‘’A Qualified Certifier is required to have successfully completed a recognised course in testing, verification and certification in the previous 3 years’’. Attendance on this course meets this requirement and QC numbers will be issued on completion.
Copies of training documentation will be required for those attending this course i.e. National Craft Cert or Certificate of Completion of Apprenticeship or equivalent.
The qualified certifier requirement came into force on the 1st July 2012. It will not be possible to have certificates processed for connection by the ESB unless the certificate contains a valid qualified certifier number or unless a Verification & Certification Course is booked and paid for. This applies to both paper and electronic users.
Periodic Inspection
This course describes how to carry out a Periodic Inspection, what to look for, the best approach to carrying out the tests required by the Wiring Rules and how to complete the Periodic Inspection
Report Form. Guidance is given on how to assess the condition of existing electrical installations and how to make recommendations to the owner.
