ForceLED is ideally suited for applications with demanding requirements
Thorn has launched ForceLED, a tough, waterproof and compact LED luminaire with the option to integrate controls. IP66-rated, ForceLED is dust and moisture proof, making it ideal for tougher applications, including indoor car parks, warehouses, dry and cold storage, production areas and workshops. The product is equipped with a unique prismatic diffuser which optimizes the light distribution from the LED light source. ForceLED comes with the option of integrating a presence detector with wireless master and slave function.
ForceLED has a compact, slim profile and fully recyclable aluminium body. It is available in a wide variety of options and variants, including integrated presence-based dimming controls and a wireless master and slave feature. The single master sensor can control up to 99 slave luminaires within a 30 meter range, in up to 32 different zones to deliver further energy savings.
Alan Joannidi, Global Product Manager at Thorn, explains: “Efficient LEDs (40/61W) deliver 4 100 and 6 200 lumen respectively while achieving up to 102Llm/W efficacy. When fitted as a point for point replacement for 2x58W HF luminaires, ForceLED (61W) achieves a 38% annual energy saving over a 15-year period and a payback time of just 2,1 years.* A long 50 000 hour lifetime (@L70, B10, Ta 35°C) based on improved thermal management is achieved. By using LED further savings based on reduced maintenance requirements are realized. When comparing the absolute investment costs with total lifetime running costs, ForceLED delivers a 28% saving.”
