ECSSA
OUR MANDATE
Is simply to improve the standards of electrical installation work in Ireland by promoting and protecting the interests of the public relating to electrical services as well as providing a service to our contractors to promote and maintain high standards of workmanship, safety and competence.
Before the establishment of regulatory bodies like the ECSSA there was considerable anxiety among the general public, and even the electrical industry about unqualified people carrying out electrical work. By choosing an ECSSA registered contractor all those worries are removed. The customer can now choose a contractor and be fully confident about the standard of work that will be undertaken.
OUR BACKGROUND
Since the foundation of ECSSA in May 1997, ECSSA has gone from strength to strength because it delivers a valuable service to both contractors and customers. ECSSA is recognised by both the ESB and ETCI (Electro-Technical Council of Ireland) who formulate the Irish national position on emerging/developing standards and promote safety in electrical equipment and installation.
